@iBizAfrica hosts GSEA East Africa Finals

gsea awards@iBizAfrica in association with Strathmore Business School hosted the first ever GSEA finals for East Africa on 11th March 2015. The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards is a global competition for student entrepreneurs who actively run a for-profit business, while attending a college or university.

Six student startup founders from various universities in Kenya went head to head by pitching to EO and @iBizAfrica panel of judges.The startup founders are:

  1. David Mabiria- Magazine Reel
  2. Masidza Galavu- Tatu Creatives
  3. John Njoroge- Savana Online Mart Limited
  4. Njuru Mwangi- Sufuria.com
  5. Wangechi Mwangi-Valuraha Group
  6. Ian Ndwiga- Indomitable innovators

The event was graced by the incoming Global EO chair Gilberto Crombe. It was a very competitive exercise and at the end of the pitching, Wangechi Mwangi of Valuraha group won the competition .


She will have a great chance of representing East Africa for the global finals in Washington DC from 15th to 17 April 2015. She will compete with 30 other student entrepreneurs from across the globe where the prize will be USD 20,000.

EO and @iBizAfrica will work together to promote Entrepreneurship in Africa.
